A safe SPACE to develop your talent!
Although SPACE Choir is new, the team is a highly experienced, creative teaching team led by Becki Jankinson and Jay Bishop. We understand that parents and carers place great trust in us when their children attend SPACE Choir. Creating a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment is central to everything we do. All adults working directly with our young people will hold an enhanced DBS check and follow our safeguarding policies and procedures. We are committed to ensuring that every child can enjoy singing, learning and performing in an environment where they feel safe, respected and supported.

Becki Jankinson (BMus Hons. PGCE) is an experienced professional musician, vocal coach and head of music across a regional school trust. She has extensive experience working as Musical Director for a number of choirs and drama groups. "The SPACE Choir will focus on giving younger voices the chance to develop and showcase their talents. We want to equip our choir with the vocal and performance techniques that will enable them to feel confident whether they are on the stage or in the studio."
Jay Bishop (BA Hons.) has run an adult show choir for 8 years and an apprenticeship training company for 15 years. "We want to provide a space where young people have the opportunity to develop their creative skills and get involved in live performance. We know the positive impact singing in a choir can have both socially and on health and wellbeing. Above all we recognise the importance of providing these opportunities to young people in a safe, supportive and fun environment!"
